1. My boys are doing what scouters do, camping in the freezing cold and desperately hoping it doesn't rain.
2. My throat hurts which makes me a teensy bit cranky.
3. Four more days (fingers crossed) until I get my counter tops, but most importantly my sink. I'll say it again, until you have lived without a kitchen sink you truly have no idea. My heartfelt sympathies for anyone who has ever been without a kitchen sink for any length of time. Also, I would have made a horrible pioneer.
4. Since we don't have a bathroom on our main level I have to go to the yucky basement to fill up containers of water for us to drink. I confess that every time I do this I sing (either to myself or out loud) the song that the girl in the man-village sings at the end of The Jungle Book. I will leave you with that now.
I must go and fetch the water
Til the day that I am grown
Father's hunting in the forest
Mother's cooking in the home.

Today
1. My favorite thing about Mondays is the marathon bath that I am able to get Tiger to take. Since he doesn't have school on Mondays, the day can be very long for both of us. A nice hour, or two, in the tub can break that up nicely.
2. We are all a bundle of allergies around here. I never really thought much about allergies until I had kids who were majorly affected by the things in which they are allergic. I blame myself for I, too have always had seasonal allergies, nothing major, but they were just always a part of life. At least now I am not alone in my misery. My poor little runny nosed munchkins.
3. Last week was exhausting and insane and I am really looking forward to a nice boring week. Perhaps some laundry will actually get done? Perhaps.
4. A counter guy is coming tonight to measure for new counters. That means that a kitchen sink is in my future. Have I mentioned how much I miss having a kitchen sink? I will forever have sympathy and understanding for anyone who is ever without a kitchen sink for any amount of time. Also, I actually miss cooking and I am sick of eating junk.
5. Has anyone else been noticing lately how much facial work celebrities seem to be having these days? They all look so weird and funky. Just say "no" people!
6. Last night Doug and I finished watching the first season of Sherlock. Very fun. I can hardly wait for the next season to start next month. In the meantime I really should finally start watching Downton Abbey. Yes, I know I am way behind. Yes, I know that I will absolutely love it.
Happy Monday. Let me leave you with the current state of my kitchen. The fun never ends around here.

Today
I am looking at one of those weeks that promises to be action packed, full of non-stop business, and crazy. Guaranteed to drive me crazy because I won't be able to get most of the stuff done that I want to get done. Bring it on.
By the way, you don't realize how much you rely on kitchen counters and a kitchen sink until you don't have them. Let me just say that it is very inconvenient.
We only have 5 more Mondays left of school. 6 more Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursdays. 5 more Fridays. That is just bizarro to me. We have never gotten out of school this early before and I have mixed feelings about it.

A bunch of pictures of our visit to the farm
You may recall that last year we came to this very same farm and I posted about it here. We had so much fun last summer that we thought we would check it out in the Spring, with the hope that there would be some baby animals. Once again the farm did not disappoint.
Everyone brought their cameras and many pictures were taken. Some of the animals, and some of each other.
Chickens and roosters. My littlest man just loves chickens and roosters.
Old fashioned wooden toys abound.
The farm house
Inside the house there are a couple of rooms decorated in 1800's style with all kinds of toys and whatnot from that time period.
The kitchen in the house. There are usually one or two ladies in here cooking various things. Today there was the aroma of chicken and on the table there were some asparagus that had just been cooked.
Enjoying the parlor.
Of course, what is a farm without horses. Sadly my Woo is allergic to horses, but that didn't stop her from getting close and petting one. Of course next time we'll remember to give her some allergy medicine before we go. I don't know if she thought the itchy face and watery eyes were worth it.
Baby lambies!!!!! There were a bunch of them and they were so cute!
Grinding corn - Tiger's favorite thing to do
Aside from looking at chickens and grinding corn, the only other thing that Tiger really wanted to do was look for rocks. He had quite a collection in his pockets by the time with left the farm. I just need to remember to empty the pockets of his coat before I wash it.
Swinging
One last look at the chickens on our way out.
Once outside of the farm, we drove around through the rest of the park and found this covered bridge. Ohio is actually full of them, but I never seem to have a camera when I find one. Luckily, this park made it easy for me.
We can't wait to go back again. Although the kids made it clear that they do not want to be there during slaughter time.

Scenes from Spring Break
Many bubbles have been blown
Many creations and words of wisdom have been documented with chalk on our driveway
Massive Nerf wars have taken place. On a daily basis.
Kids have shown up, from who knows where, and have congregated in my front yard in order to participate in these Nerf wars. Here are a few of them choosing teams.
Chaos then ensues.
It has been a fun, but exhausting week and I am ready to send them all back to school.

Funny Kid
I don't know where he gets these things? The other day he came down wearing this button shirt over his clothes and the front of his hair slicked down and over to the side. He told me he wanted to look good. Seriously so cute. Now, whenever he wants to look a little extra special, this is what he wears. It is always this same blue shirt and the front of his hair is always slicked with water over to the side. This probably happens several times a week. In this picture the neighborhood kids and my kids had decided to have a party in our driveway. Well you know if there is a party, then a man needs to look good for the ladies. Mission accomplished.

Spring Break
This week we are enjoying the beauty that is Spring Break. No alarm clocks. No lunch packing. No homework fights. It is a week of bliss. We started off a bit early this year. You see, since our Spring Break seems to always fall at the beginning of April, Doug is unable to take any time off of work because the first two weeks of the month (at least) are his busiest time and he is usually swamped and working late. Since he isn't able to play with us this week, he took off from work last Thursday and Friday. Highlights of those days include eating out, shopping for new kitchen cabinets (yes, the kitchen is finally going to be gutted and remodeled), a trip to the Zoo, and visiting my wonderful cousins in Cincinnati. It was a fun filled weekend. One that really makes this week look quite boring, but I'm OK with that because the weather is nice and the kids are outside doing what kids are supposed to do. It's a good week and I am happy.
