Well, how did you celebrate our nation's independence?

We choose to celebrate with illegal fireworks purchased in South Carolina (even though I never did feel quite right setting them off on a Sunday).

I love the look on Sparky's face.

One of the tamer fireworks.

KK didn't like the loud explosions and chose to watch from the safety of the car.

I have no idea what Tiger is doing here, but this has turned into one of his favorite poses whenever I am taking his picture. My favorite was watching his enire body tense up in anticipation everytime we lit a firework.

Tigerisms

Holy cow is Tiger talking these days. Here are a few of my favorites from our vacation last week.

Elevator = Elegator
Hagrid (from Harry Potter) = Hammerhead
Alligator = Galligator
Commercial = Camarshmallow

Mom, are you frustrated? I'm so frustrated. I'm angry. I'm happy.

My toesie toes do flips.

I'm ready for ice creamies.

Awesome parenting moment

Sparky: You mean these fireworks we are lighting are illegal?!
Me: Uh. . . Yeah.
Sparky: You mean that if a policeman drove by we could get into trouble?!
Me: Uh. . . Yeah.
Sparky: Well then, why are we doing it?
Me: Because they're fun and really cool.
Sparky: I just don't feel right about this. When I grow up I'm never going to set off illegal fireworks!
Me: Ok, we'll see if you still feel the same way when you are 16.

Insane in the membrane

June has been CRAZY!! I thought that May was bad, but June is just as insane. Between end of school insanity, dance recitals, kid's sports, and planning Youth Conference I haven't had time to think. But never fear, the month will eventually come to an end and then you will all be blessed with the witty workings of my mind and perhaps a few pictures as well. I am also kicking around the idea of a weekly feature on Mondays. Stay tuned, good things will be coming.

Totally

After listening to the Totally 80's Kids Karaoke CD that one of my kids got in their kid's meal from Wendy's, I have decided that there just aren't enough synthesizers used in today's music.

A conversation

KK: Don't touch me!
Sparky: But I am electric man and I electrocute people.
KK: OK, but don't touch me.

Denial

As I looked deeply into my delicious little Tiger's eyes, I noticed that his baby blues are turning into baby greys. SAD! I never really thought that I would have a blue eyed child since no one in my family has blue eyes, but when KK was born and her eyes were so blazing blue, I was quite thrilled. Alas, the blue was not meant to be and around 4 years old her eyes started turning grey and now, at the age of 7, they seem to have landed at some sort of dark green. Well, it appears that the same thing is happening to my last child. His eyes have always been so very blue, but those days appear to be in the past. So I guess the question now is what color of green will his eyes be in the end?

Big Bang Theory Quote of the Week

Sheldon: For your information, I only drink hot chocolate during months that end with and "r".
Howard: Why?
Sheldon: What's life without whimsy?

Skills

This boy has just recently learned how to work the mouse. I have been waiting a very long time for this moment and a whole new world has opened up for the both of us. No more am I stuck holding him on my lap while I am forced to play mind numbing games involving, but not limited to Thomas the Tank Engine, Super Why, Pingu the penguin, and more Thomas the Tank Engine. Never fear however, he is a master whiz on Mario Kart for the DS.
