I am told he was at least polite about it

I received a text from a friend of mine who just happened to be the substitute teacher today in Tiger's primary class at church.  Apparently Tiger felt that she was putting a damper on the fun he was trying to have with his friends because he kept saying to the teacher, "Is there another chair you could go sit in?"

Aren't kids great?

We call him Rico . . . Suave

A few days ago I received the following email from Tiger's preschool teacher:

Hey There,
I was given a report (through an assistant riding Tiger's bus, to Ms. , to me) that the bus driver has been letting Tiger and Nailah sit next to each other on the bus. Apparently, they were kissing as they were sitting with each other. I am told that they are not allowed to sit with each other anymore. I have also seen that Tiger and Nailah seem to play together more, which is fine, but I have also seen bashful faces and very close sitting, and a kiss. I told them that kisses were for families at home. I have not seen it at school since (they still choose to play and Tiger gets a little blushy) but no touching or kissing has happened since. Just wanted to let you know so that maybe you can remind him that kisses are for home.

I have not laughed so hard at an email in a very long time.  The extra funny thing is that as Tiger and I have been talking about his girlfriends lately, this particular one was never mentioned.  He's a tricky one that Tiger of mine.

Moon

On our way home from dance the other night, the sky was a beautiful collection of blues and purples as the full moon rose to its rightful spot in the night sky.

One step closer to leaving me (sniff)

Today was a momentous occasion for this little girl.  She walked into the orthodontist office looking like my precious little 8 year old and came out one big step closer to adolescence.  It kind of breaks my heart a little bit.  These cute little braces, one with a pink band and one with an orange band (and a pallet expander that you can't see), remind me that in the blink of an eye she is going to be looking down on me (because there is no doubt that she will be taller than myself) and yelling about the unfairness of life and that I am the meanest mom on the face of the earth because I won't let her go to some party with a bunch of hooligans thus ruining her life forever.  No way.  She is going to remain my precious little dreamboat of an angel for ever and ever and she is going to want to be with me always.  Well, maybe not always, but she will remain a dreamboat.

Monday Memories

Today I am surrounded by a trashed house that hasn't seen any love for the past week and is in desperate need of a little attention.  Due to the amount of work that I need to do to put this house back together I am having a hard time thinking of a memory today, because thinking about doing housework is very mentally taxing you know.  Wait!  I just remembered something.  When I was in Utah a week ago, my brother and I were talking about a time when he split his head open.  I don't remember how old we were, but I remember the house we lived in, the one on Asbury Circle, which means that I was probably 6 or something like that.  Anyhoo, My parents went out that night and we had a babysitter.  Knowing what my nephews are like, I am sure that there is a good possibility that my brother was messing around in some physical manner which caused him to fall onto the brick hearth of the fireplace and split his head open.  Sadly, the babysitter freaked out and proved to be rather useless in this situation and so it was up to me to swoop in and save the day.  I called 911 and it is possible that I called my parents as well, although I really don't know if the calling my parents part of the story is true (but it sounds good don't you think?).  Either way, I was the hero.  Yes, my brother is alive to this day due to my quick actions and my brilliance in knowing what to do in case of an emergency.  You're welcome Mike.  You can make it up to me this summer in niece and nephew snuggles.  And now I must go and clean something.

**UPDATE**  So, according to my Dad, my brother was rocking back and forth on our little wooden rocking chair when he fell and hit his head on the brick hearth.  Also, it turns out that I didn't call 911, but I did call them to come home which they did and then they took my brother to the hospital to have his head stitched up.  Not quite as dramatic, but I still say that I saved his life.  Well, at the least I saved his head.

On a side note:  My memory is seriously slipping these days.  I can barely remember last week let alone the details of my childhood which leads me to believe that the future of my memory is not looking very bright.  Not good.

Just For Fun

The good thing about having a brother that lives out of town is that you get to go and visit, so that's just what I did. I packed my bags and headed west to spend a few days with these precious little bundles. Oh my, do I love them.
As soon as this boy saw me, he jumped in my arms, snuggled in, and fell fast asleep.  It was dreamy.
Two cute sisters.

Mr. Snotnose
I did a lot of this.  Mmm, just look at that tasty baby neck crevice.
"Bye Aunt Beth, see you in June."
